Small House Organization

Because we live in a relatively small house, I've had to get creative with our storage so that we can continue to be creative without there being things EVERYWHERE.

Here are a couple of things I've figured out:

1) I'm keeping all of our little things organized in bins I can pull out as we need the items!

2) I'm using our ottoman to store puzzles and games. I love these heavy-duty zipper bags from Amazon.

3) I keep portfolio binders on a shelf in our bedroom, but I found that my oldest two would get very upset if I tried to get rid of artwork and writing that didn't make the portfolio cut. I decided to start a bin for each child so that any papers they wish to save can have a home. When their box gets too full, they have to make choices to thin it down. So far, so good on that front.

4) Above the paper bins, I keep clipboards that we use as our drying rack for paintings!

5) I repurposed our baby bottle drying rack to use in the bathroom as our paint supplies drying rack.

6) I use this cart to keep our paper (scrap, construction paper, etc.), watercolor paints, coloring books, and tea time materials. The basket next to it contains all of our tea time books!

Just a couple of simple ways to keep things organized in a small house! Maybe someday we will have my dream craft room, but for now, this works :)
